Manchester City will not be making a move for Spanish midfielder Isco this summer. City boss Pep Guardiola has ruled out a move for the Real Madrid star. The Premier League champions have been linked with an €80 million bid for Isco in recent weeks.
Guardiola was present at an event for the Johan Cruyff foundation on Wednesday and was quick to tell reporters his club will not be bidding for Isco. The 26-year-old midfielder has a contract until the summer of 2022, which includes a €700 million release clause.
The City manager also talked about Madrid’s success in the Champions League, after the club won three successive titles. “It’s spectacular, you have to take your hat off to them,” he said. “It doesn’t matter if they deserve it or not, because it’s very difficult to do what they’ve done. Zidane has done a spectacular job.”
