Mauricio Pellegrino has found a new club after he was sacked by Southampton in March. The 46-year-old has signed a one-year contract at La Liga outfit Leganes. The club announced on Saturday Pellegrino will be replacing Asier Garitano, who signed a contract at Real Sociedad.
“Club Deportivo Leganes and Mauricio Pellegrino have reached an agreement for the Argentine coach to lead the club the next season,” a Leganes statement confirmed. “The new head coach has signed his contract on Friday morning that links him to the club until June 30, 2019.”
Signing a deal at Leganes means a return for Pellegrino to La Liga, having earlier spells at Alaves and Valencia. Leganes managed to survive the battle against relegation last season, finishing 14 points above the relegation zone.
