Besiktas are ready to start negotiations with Everton for midfielder Davy Klaassen. Sky Sports reports the Turkish club is ready to sign the former Ajax captain on a year long loan from the Toffees. Klaassen has been struggling at Goodison Park since moving from Ajax for a reported 24 million transfer fee.
The 25-year-old midfielder was signed by Ronald Koeman, who was sacked in October after a slow start of the season. Sam Allardyce replaced the Dutch coach, but he did not have a place for Klaassen in his squad, making only 7 Premier League appearances in his first season with the club.
Despite a difficult first season, Klaassen wants to stay at Everton to fight for his spot on the team. “My overall experience at Everton has been good. The club is excellent and the people are very nice,” Klaassen told the Liverpool Echo. “It is an ambitious club and I 100 per cent enjoy being here. I feel at home and am determined to play more for the team.”
