Ryan Fredericks is Manuel Pellegrini’s first signing as manager at West Ham United. The right-back has completed a free transfer from newly promoted Fulham. The 25-year-old defender has signed a four-year deal at the Hammers and will officially join the club on July 1.
“It’s amazing for this deal to finally happen”, Fredericks was cited by the official website. “I know we’ve been speaking about it for a while and trying to get things in place and finally, we’ve got it over the line. I’m just buzzing to be here. West Ham United are one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League.”
“Obviously, it’s an exciting time for West Ham”, the new signing continued. “The club have just brought in a new manager in Manuel Pellegrini and everyone knows his CV and what he has done in England before and in other leagues as well. I’m sure I can learn a lot from him.”
The right-back was one of Fulham’s key players last season in the EFL Championship. The Cottagers finished in third place behind champions Wolves and Cardiff. Fulham managed to promote to the Premier League after winning the play-offs. Fredericks joined Fulham in 2015 from Bristol City and has played 114 games for the club.
