Pascal Gross has signed a new contract at Brighton and Hove Albion. The German midfielder had an impressive debut in the Premier League for the Seagulls and his performances have now been rewarded with a wage hike and a one-year extension of his current deal.
Gross was relatively unknown before moving to Brighton from German side Ingolstadt last summer, but quickly impressed fans with some steady performances over the season. The midfielder finished the season with seven goals and eight assists and has now extended his deal until the summer of 2022.
“We are delighted that Pascal has agreed a new contract with the club,” said manager Chris Hughton on Brighton’s official website. “He has enjoyed an excellent first season with us in the Premier League, and we are really pleased with the impact he has made. He settled very quickly and became an integral member of the team.
The German midfielder is pleased to have signed a new deal at Brighton. “I think we had a very hard year last season and I’m happy to commit my future to the club – it’s a very special day for me. I thought last season was very good for the team – we achieved our big aim of staying in the league”
