Coaches in the Bundesliga allowed to use headsets & tablets this season

The German football association DFB have permitted coaches to wear headsets and use tablets during the games in the Bundesliga this season. The use of technology are allowed to help coaches at their job and may only be used for ‘coaching and tactical purposes’.

The DFB confirms that each team will be permitted a total of three devices on the bench. This will allow coaches to directly communicate with coaches or assistants in the stands and also physios that are on the pitch with an injured player.

The German Bundesliga will kick off on Friday August 24 when champions Bayern Munich host 1899 Hoffenheim at the Allianz arena. During the rest of the first game day of the season, Borussia Dortmund will play RB Leipzig, while Schalke 04 and Bayer Leverkusen will play against Wolfsburg and Borussia Mönchengladbach.
