Tottenham Hotspur have started negotiations with Aston Villa for Jack Grealish. According to Sky Sports the Premier League giants are prepared to meet Villa’s demands of a 30 to 40m transfer fee. Tottenham hopes to complete the transfer before the end of the week and before they head off to their preseason tour in the United States.
Villa manager Steve Bruce acknowledges that Grealish could be leaving the club this summer. “We’re up against it, let’s be open and honest, we might have to make decisions that might not be easy, we have to generate some money. Inevitably that is going to be player sales. I hope that doesn’t happen but we’ve got to batten down the hatches and wait for it.”
Villa hoped to gain promotion to the Premier League last season, but the Villans failed to secure promotion through the play-offs, following their 1-0 defeat at the hands of Fulham. With Villa’s second term in the Championship, Grealish hopes to complete a transfer to the Premier League. Liverpool showed interested, but were shocked to hear Villa’s demands.
