Everton midfielder Davy Klaassen is close to completing a move to German side Werder Bremen, reports Sky Sports. The German Bundesliga club has made contact with Everton to talk about a possible move last week and now it appears he will be leaving the club to join up with Bremen.
Klaassen signed for Everton in a 27m deal from Ajax last summer, but failed to make an impact at Goodison Park. After former manager Ronald Koeman was sacked, Klaassen was sent to the stands by his successor Sam Allardyce. Klaassen was close to sign a deal for Napoli in January, but the deal was canceled.
It is believed that the midfielder will be undergoing a medical on Friday morning, and that Werder hopes to complete a deal before the weekend starts. In total, the 25-year-old made just three starts in the Premier League across seven appearances.
