Bayern Munich will not be making a move for Anthony Martial this summer, says the club chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. The outspoken CEO of the German giants has insisted that his club is not interested in the French Manchester United forward.
Martial wants to leave Old Trafford this summer and Bayern had been linked as one of the potential clubs to make a bid. “We have four wingers: Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben, Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry,” Rummenigge said to Bild. “And Alphonso Davies will also join in January. You must not overdo it, like some clubs do, or you create a problem for the coach.”
Martial was signed as a future star at Manchester United three seasons ago, but failed to make an impact under Jose Mourinho. The French forward was dropped out of the team after Alexis Sanchez’s signing in January, which led to Martial missing out on the 2018 World Cup with France. It is claimed that Martial blames Mourinho for missing out on the chance to become world champion.
