Atletico Madrid’s Kevin Gameiro looked to be close to completing a transfer to Valencia, but according to reports in Spain, Borussia Dortmund have made a last-minute offer for the French forward. Gameiro is set to leave the Wanda Metropolitano, but Atletico wants to sign a replacement first.
AC Milan forward Nikola Kalinic is considered to be the leading candidate ahead of Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi. However, with a new offer on the table, Atletico Madrid could agree to let Gameiro leave. It is believed that Dortmund have made a €23m bid, while Valencia’s bid was around €14m.
The report claims that Gameiro has already met with representatives of Valencia and that he has verbally agreed a contract. But, with Dortmund’s last minute offer on the table, Gameiro’s future could be in the German Bundesliga. The French forward has played 82 games for Atletico and scored 27 goals.
