Italian side Fiorentina have confirmed the arrival of Kevin Mirallas from Everton on a four-year contract. The 30-year-old forward has joined the club on an initial season-long loan, but the club will be signing him permanently next summer.
The Belgium international, who collected 60 caps for the Red Devils, was surplus to requirements at Goodison Park. He already spent the second half of last season on loan at Greek side Olympiakos Pireaus. Mirallas did not feature in new boss Marco Silva’s plans and decided he wanted to move clubs.
In an official statement Fiorentina announced the transfer. “ACF Fiorentina announces it has signed the sporting rights of Kevin Mirallas from Everton FC, on loan with an option to buy,” it reads. Mirallas has also played for French clubs Lille and Saint-Etienne during his career and has played 186 official games for Everton across all competitions.
