While Sky Sports reported Everton were ready to announce Yerry Mina on Monday, the Colombian centre-back has returned to training at FC Barcelona. The 23-year-old ended his extended holiday on Monday morning, alongside his fellow World Cup participants including Philippe Coutinho, Ivan Rakitic and Luis Suarez.
Spanish media were surprised to see Mina, who had reportedly traveled to England to complete a medical at Everton and finalising his move to Goodison Park. Reports claimed that Barcelona and Everton had found each other in a €32m deal with Mina reportedly agreeing to a four-year-contract.
Mina joined Barcelona past January in a €12m deal from Brazilian side Palmeiras. After joining the Spanish giants, Mina failed to make an impact at the club, making only five appearances in LaLiga. Besides Everton, Mina has been linked with moves to Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain.
