West Ham United are ready to break their club transfer record for the second time this summer. The Hammers already broke the record for Lazio midfielder Felipe Anderson in a €45m deal this summer, but are now looking to add another €5m to that record with a reported €50m move for Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gómez.

He young Uruguayan forward impressed in his first season in LaLiga, scoring 18 goals in 36 league appearances. His performances earned him a spot in Uruguay’s World Cup squad, where he would feature in three games.
Celta are reported to be keen on keeping Gomez, but don’t stand a chance if a club activates his €50m release clause. And according to local radio station Galician Goles, West Ham have informed Celta that they are willing to activate the clause. It is expected that Gomez will arrive in London on Wednesday to complete his move.
