Chelsea have officially completed their loan-move for Mateo Kovacic. The Blues already confirmed on Wednesday that and agreement for the Croatian had been reached and on Thursday the club unveiled their new midfielder. Kovacic will be on a full-season loan from Spanish giants Real Madrid.
“I am really happy and excited to be here at Chelsea. It is an amazing feeling. I will try to do my best for this club. It is a new league for me, the beginning is always tough but I am sure the coach and my new team-mates will help me and I am looking forward to a great season.”
Kovacic signed for Real Madrid three seasons ago in a €28m move from Italian side Internazionale. The midfielder won the Champions League in all three seasons with the Spanish giants, but was unable to hold down a regular spot in the first team. During the 2018 World Cup Kovacic already admitted he wanted to leave Real in order to play more first team football.
