French giants Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco are both ready to make an offer for FC Barcelona’s Ivan Rakitic. Despite the 30-year-old Croatian being a first-team regular for the past three seasons, both PSG and Monaco feel that they will be able to lure him away from the Blaugranas.
Rakitic has a €125m release clause in his contract and it appears that both PSG and Monaco are willing to activate that clause. However, according to Mundo Deportivo, both clubs will be contacting Barcelona to talk about a transfer for a possible lower fee. If not, they appear to be happy to bid the required €125m.
The player himself is believed to want to stay at Barcelona next season and could reject an offer from PSG or Monaco. The report also claims that the Spanish giants are ready to offer Rakitic a new contract with a higher salary and an inflated release clause.
