Fiorentina have confirmed on New Year’s day that they have completed the signing of Sevilla forward Luis Muriel ahead of a medical. La Viola will loan the Colombia international for six months and then have the option to sign him on a permanent deal for €12M.
A statement on Fiorentina’s website read: “Fiorentina announces that she has acquired the rights to the sports performance of the player Luis Fernando Muriel Fruto from Sevilla Futbol Club. the formula is the agreement on a temporary basis with the right of redemption.”
Muriel is set to arrive in Florence on Wednesday to undergo a medical. After that he will be able to complete his transfer back to the Serie A. Muriel joined Sevilla in 2017 in a transfer from Sampdoria worth €21.5M. He would make 65 appearances for the Spanish side, scoring 13 goals.
