Burnley boss Sean Dyche has denied speculations that defender James Tarkowski could move to Liverpool in January. The Premier League leaders appear to be in looking for defensive reinforcements during the winter window after the Reds lost Dejan Lovren to a hamstring injury last week.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has some puzzling to do in the next couple of weeks with Joe Gomez (broken leg) and Joel Matip (fractured collarbone) already out with injuries. Several reports from England claimed that England international Tarkowski had appeared on Liverpool’s radar as a possible solution for the injury crisis at Anfield.
“There are a lot of rumours out there and not much fact,” Dyche dismissed the transfer rumours. “The most amazing one is the Tarky one. That is just bizarre. It’s that time of the season and everyone is looking for a snippet, but there is a lot of phantom stuff out there.” 26-year-old Tarkowski has been a Burnley player since joining the Clarets in a €4m deal from Brentford in 2016.
