According to the Wall Street Journal, the Las Vegas Police Department have issued a warrant to obtain Cristiano Ronaldo’s DNA. It is believed that the LVPD want to see if the Portuguese’s DNA matches the DNA that has been found on the dress of the woman that accuses him for raping her.
Ever since Ronaldo was accuses by Kathryn Mayorga for raping her, the Portuguese has denied all claims, threatening legal actions against the 34-year-old. In an interview with Der Spiegel, Ms Mayorga told she filed a report for rape in 2009 with the Las Vegas Police. She also revealed that she had received €300.000 to never go public with the allegations.
However, talking to lawyers made her decide to tell her story in 2018. The Nevada police reopened the case back in October. Peter Christiansen, one of Ronaldo’s lawyers, hit back that the legal documents published by Der Spiegel relating to the rape allegations were ‘altered and/or completely fabricated’.
