Marko Arnautovic is not for sale, states West Ham United. The Austrian winger had received an offer from an unknown club from China, while West Ham received an offer worth €40m. The Hammers released an official statement on Thursday, confirming their intention to hold on Arnautovic.
“Marko Arnautovic has a contract and we fully expect him to honour it,” the club’s statement read. “He is not for sale.” The forward signed from Stoke City on a five-year-deal in July 2017 and has been the club’s best performer this season with seven goals from 15 games.
Earlier on the day, Arnautovic’s brother and agent Danijel revealed that the 29-year-old had asked West Ham to accept the offer from China. It is believed the former Internazionale and FC Twente forward had the chance to sign a bumper deal in China which could be as high as €15m-per-season.
