Manolo Gabbiadini completes transfer to Sampdoria

Sampdoria have announced the completion of the transfer of Manolo Gabbiadini from  Southampton after two years. The 27-year-old joined the Saints in January 2017 and had a good start to his career in the Premier League. This season he fell down the pecking order and had been allowed to leave.

A number of clubs expressed their interest to sign the forward in January, but now it has been confirmed that Gabbiadini will be returning to the club he left in 2015. “The most beautiful shirt in the world, the sea, the warmth of the fans. It’s great to be back”, the forward wrote on social media.

Sampdoria will be loaning the forward for the next six months, but the club has an obligation to buy Gabbiadini in the summer for €12m. The forward will then sign a four-year contract at the Serie A club.
