Thomas Muller will not be able to help Bayern Munich in their quest towards the Champions League quarter final. The German midfielder has been handed a two-game ban for his red card in the final group game with Ajax (3-3 draw).
Muller had a collision with Ajax left-back Nico Tagliafico and was shown a direct card, the German’s first direct red card in his Bayern Munich career. The UEFA have now revealed that Muller has been handed a two-game ban and he will miss both games against Liverpool in the round of 16.
Muller has played a total of 25 games for Bayern this season, scoring 5 goals and providing 6 assists. The first leg between Bayern and Liverpool will be played on February 19 on Anfield. The return game will be played on March 13.
