FC Barcelona have turned down the opportunity to sign Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata in January, according to El Mundo Deportivo. It is believed that the player’s agent has contacted Barcelona and offered the services of his client, who is wanting a way out at Chelsea.
The Spain international has been linked with a move to Sevilla in recent weeks, but the Andalusians are not able to meet Chelsea’s demands. Sevilla wanted to loan Morata for six months without an obligation to sign him on a permanent contract in the summer. Chelsea only wants to loan if the club accepts an obligation to buy.
Barcelona were offered Morata on a six-month loan deal but the club rejected. The Spanish giants weren’t prepared to take on the forwards full salary and also want to give an opportunity to a younger player.
