Napoli have confirmed that midfielder Marko Rog will be joining Spanish side Sevilla on loan. The Polish midfielder has failed to break into the first team at the Italians this season and has now been given the opportunity to gain experience in LaLiga.
Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli confirmed that Rog is allowed to join Sevilla if he agrees personal terms with the Spanish side, but also insisted that there will not be an option to buy. “We’re talking, yes,” Giuntoli told ABC de Sevilla. “We’ve given the ‘OK’ to loaning him out. We feel it can be a good option for Marko.”
“He can spend the next few months in Seville, but then he’ll be back with us. We don’t want to include an option to buy, and we’ve said that to him and Sevilla. Marko arrived in the summer of 2016 and we’re convinced that he’ll end up breaking out. He’s a player we have a lot of confidence in, so we don’t want to get rid of him. We’re not going to give anyone away.”
