Gary Cahill will not be moving to Fulham in January, reports Sky Sports. It is believed that the Whites have failed to agree a deal with the Chelsea defender. It is thought that Fulham have offered Cahill a contract until the end of the season, while the defender wants to sign a longer-term contract.
Fulham have already agreed a deal with Chelsea and negotiations with Cahill have been held over the weekend. Earlier Fulham boss Claudio Ranieri cast doubt over the transfer and the Italian’s worries have been made reality.
Ranieri has urged his club to sign experienced players in their relegation battle in the Premier League. The 33-year-old Cahill would have been the ideal veteran centre-back Ranieri was looking for. Fulham currently sit in 19th place, seven points behind a safe spot.
