AS Monaco have confirmed on Friday that Thierry Henry has been officially sacked as manager of the club. The former Arsenal legend was suspended from his job on Thursday but was eventually sacked a day later. Monaco have also released a statement that they have appointed a new manager.
And that ‘new’ manager is Leonardo Jardim, the manager they sacked in October and who was replaced by Henry. “We are convinced that it is not too late to turn this situation around. We firmly believe that our players are good enough to mobilize and turn our fortunes around this season.”
With Henry taking over the job in October, the results for Monaco did not improve. The club was knocked out of the Champions League group stage with one point, while they have been going down the ladder in the Ligue 1 and a currently 19th in the French league.
