Juventus are currently working on a plan B if the Italians fail to land Ajax centre-back Matthijs de Ligt this summer. The Dutch defender is still topping Juve’s wanted list, but after Frenkie de Jong decided to join FC Barcelona next season, the Italian giants fear De Ligt could want to join his fellow Dutchman at the Nou Camp.
For that reason the Serie A champions are considering a move for Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen, claims Corriere dello Sport. The Danish defender was bound to emulate John Terry at Stamford Bridge, but has failed to impress under Maurizio Sarri and is not a first-team regular.
Juventus are expecting Medhi Benatie to leave the club this summer and that would create an extra space in the squad for Christensen. It is claimed that Juventus are ready to land a bid close to €40m for the defender. It is unclear if Chelsea are prepared to negotiate terms for Christensen.
