RB Leipzig are desperate to keep their star striker Timo Werner on their team beyond the end of his current contract in 2020. According to Bild, the German international has been offered a bumper new deal which would see him double his salary.
The 22-year-old forward has 18 months left on his current deal and the race for his signature has been hotting up in recent months with Bayern Munich being the long-time favourites to sign Werner. Liverpool and Real Madrid are also thought to be interested.
Werner, who joined RB Leipzig in 2016 from Stuttgart, has played 22 games this season across all competitions, scoring 13 goals and providing 3 assists. Leipzig are the current number four in the Bundesliga.
