Arsenal defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos has been ruled out for a month with an ankle injury picked up in the 3-1 defeat by Manchester United in the FA Cup. The Greek defender was forced off the pitch after just 21 minutes in the game on Friday.
Arsenal released a medical update on Sunday and stated that Papastathopoulos will not be available for the Gunner’s next games in the Premier League and could miss the clubs first knock-out games in the Europa League. The defender is expected back at the end of February.
Laurent Koscielny did not receive a return date just yet. The French defender received a boot in the face on Friday and it was first feared that he suffered a broken jaw. While the injury seems to be less worse than first feared, the club is not able to put a time scale on the injured defender’s return.
