Bayer Leverkusen are confident they can hang on to Kai Havertz next season. Sporting director Rudi Voller has insisted that his club will do anything to keep the German wonderkid at the club until the end of next season amid transfer rumours.
The 19-year-old attacking midfielder has emerged as one of the young stars in the Bundesliga this season and his performances for Leverkusen have attracted the interest of several European giants, including Bayern Munich and Manchester City. Havertz also earned his first cap for Germany at the end of 2018.
Therefore Voller is keen on keeping Havertz at Leverkusen next season. “It is normal that such a once-in-a-century talent will have other ambitions at one point. Then we will discuss it. But it’s not that time yet. He won’t leave in the summer.”
