According to Spanish media, Real Madrid have dropped their interest in Christian Eriksen. Los Blancos are not interested in difficult negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy and will not make any offers of the Dane. Instead, Real Madrid will turn their attention to Chelsea’s Eden Hazard once again.
Real Madrid have been long-linked to the Belgian winger, but have not made any approaches so far. With Hazard’s contract ending at the end of 2020, Madrid are keen on negotiating terms with Chelsea for a summer transfer. It is believed that Hazard will be available around €125m.
It was thought that Real would have wanted to sign both Eriksen and Hazard for next summer, but it now seems that the Danish playmaker has been dropped of the wanted list at Madrid. Eriksen’s deal also runs out in 2020, but it is firmly believed that Tottenham are not prepared to negotiate terms for any fee under €150m.
