Neymar will unlikely be available for Paris Saint-Germain in their first Champions League clash with Manchester United in three weeks time, says PSG boss Thomas Tuchel. The Brazilian suffered a foot injury last week, a similar injury to the one that kept him out for three months last year.
A definitive diagnoses has not been made as Neymar is still being examined by PSG’s medical staff. The forward suffered the injury a week ago during PSG’s Coupe de France win over Strasbourg. The Ligue 1 leaders returned to action this weekend, picking up a 4-1 win over Stade Rennes.
Speaking to Canal+ after the game, Tuckel acknowledged the possible absence of Neymar. “It’s going to be super difficult,” he said. “As I explained [on Saturday] it’s too early to talk about a return date. We have to wait for the first week, which is very important, and his reaction to treatment. Only after that can we be more precise. But it’s going to be super difficult – that’s not a secret.”
