Internazionale’s chief executive Giuseppe Marotta has claimed that the Serie A giants have not received any offers for want-away Ivan Perisic. The forward has asked to leave Inter in January, with Arsenal being heavily linked with a move for the Croatian.
However, on Monday Marotta said Inter were yet to get an actual offer for the 29-year-old. “It’s difficult to keep a player that wants to leave,” he told Sky Sport. “But in this moment there are no offers for Perisic.” After his transfer request, Perisic has been forced outside of Inter’s first team and will not feature as long as he wants to leave.
Perisic joined Inter in 2015 and has been linked with a switch to the Premier League as Jose Mourinho wanted to sign the forward for Manchester United. It now appears that a move to the English leagues is back on with Arsenal interested. Gunners boss Unai Emery refused to comment on the rumours, but did admit Arsenal is targeting a winger.
