Memphis Depay has revealed he has the ambition to leave Olympique Lyon at one point in his career. The Dutch forward is currently in his second season with the French club after joining them from Manchester United, but has stated he would like to make a transfer towards one of Europe’s elite clubs.
Talking to Helden Magazine, Depay said: “I want to go to a club like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich. I want to go to a city that suits me and a club that suits me, to a team that really wants to play football. I always talk about Real Madrid, a royal club, white shirts with gold. But I’m focused right now on Lyon, and then we see where I end up.”
The 24-year-old still has a contract at Lyon until the summer of 2021 and he has been in good form for the club this season, scoring six goals and providing six assists. The former PSV and Manchester United forward has also earned 43 caps for the Dutch national team, scoring 11 goals.
