Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti is set to make a return to full fitness in time to face Manchester United in the Champions League, claims RMC. The Italian suffered a sprained ankle in PSG’s 9-0 trashing of Guingamp and many feared he would be out for at least one or two months.
The report claims that Verratti is not feeling any pain and will be ready to return to team training later this week. Though, it is expected that PSG boss Thomas Tuchel will keep the Italian on the sideline for this weekend’s game at Olympique Lyon as the German does not want to risk the fitness of his midfielder.
While PSG received positive news on Verratti, the club is fearing the worst for their star player Neymar. The Brazilian suffered a foot injury and reports from France claim that the first examinations have learned that the forward will need surgery and will probably miss the remainder of the season.
