FC Barcelona are currently exploring the possibilities of having Toulouse defender Jean-Clair Todibo joining the club in January instead of next season, reports ESPN. The French defender recently signed a multi-year contract with the Spanish giants for next season, but it now appears that Ernesto Valverde wants to sign the youngster this month.
According to the report, Toulouse could be open to cash in on Todibo, who has already agreed to leave the club on a free transfer after the season. The young central defender, who can also play as a holding midfielder, has been banned from all first team activities at Toulouse after he announced not to renew his contract.
The question is now if Toulouse are ready to start talks with Barcelona after their club president slammed the Spanish club for their ‘transfer tactics’ during their hunt for Todibo. The 19-year-old has made 10 appearances for Toulouse this season, but has failed to start a single match since the negotiations for a new deal broke down.
