FC Barcelona confirm Denis Suarez to Arsenal by mistake

FC Barcelona confirmed on Thursday that Denis Suarez would complete the season on loan to Arsenal, only to delete the confirmation moments later. However, before they could delete the article on their website, it was picked up on social media.

Talks between Barcelona and Arsenal appeared to have collapsed last week after Arsenal rejected to include an obligated option to buy Suarez this summer. Now, though, a deal seems to be on the cards and should be confirmed before the end of the winter transfer window.

The 25-year-old Suarez has played only 17 minutes in LaLiga this season and asked the Blaugranas to leave. The attacking midfielder is set for a reunion with Spanish boss Unai Emery. The Arsenal head coach was in charge of Sevilla when Suarez spent a season on loan at the club, winning the Europa League that season.
