Manchester City’s 2-1 defeat at Newcastle United has already seen the club drop more points than laat season. After 24 games in the Premier League Pep Guardiola’s side have dropped 16 points, more than the 14 points they dropped in their record breaking title win last season.
City had an excellent start to the game at Newcastle after Sergio Aguero scored the opener in the first minute of the game. In the second half Newcastle turned the game around and goals from Salomon Rondon and Matt Ritchie gave the struggling Magpies a shock victory over Manchester City.
Guardiola’s men have lost four and drawn two league matches this season, while they lost two and drew four of their 38 league games last season. City went on to win the title in 2018 and became the first ever club to reach 100 points in the Premier League.
The game at St. James Park also marked Guardiola’s 100th game at Man City. The Spaniard has won 73 games from the 100 games he has been in charge, while he won 79 games as head coach at FC Barcelona and even 80 games at Bayern Munich.
