Manchester City’s Rabbi Matondo is set to complete a move to German side Schalke 04, according to reports from Germany. The Welsh youngster has reportedly agreed personal terms with the club from Gelsenkirchen and will most likely be announced as a new signing on Wednesday.
Sky Germany reports that Matondo has arrived at Schalke’s training ground where he will undergo a medical before he will sign a multi-year deal with the club. It is believed that Schalke will pay City a transfer fee around €12m for the talented midfielder.
Matondo, who is expected to join his new teammates tomorrow, recently rejected a new contract offer from City due to the lack of prospects for the first team. The 18-year-old has been linked with moves to several clubs around Europe, including FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
