Manchester United and Bayern Munich are ready to battle to sign Benfica wonderkid Joao Felix. The 19-year-old Attacking midfielder is considered as one of the brightest young stars at the Lisbon based club and has now attracted the interest of the European elite.
Felix has enjoyed his big break at Benfica this season, playing in 11 games and scoring five goals. Benfica, however, have already anticipated on the interest and gave Felix a new contract in November, adding a massive €120m release clause. The Portuguese giants could be demanding as much €60m.
It is reported that both Manchester United and Bayern Munich have been sending scouts to Portugal over the past few weeks to monitor the development of Felix. It is claimed that United could make an offer this week but with the intention to sign him on in the summer. Bayern are looking at possible alternatives for Callum Hudson-Odoi following Chelsea’s reluctance to sell the English winger.
