Maurizio Sarri has not held back in his comments on the future of Eden Hazard. The Italian boss told reporters on Wednesday that the Belgian star player should leave Chelsea if he has the desire to do so. Though Sarri insists he would rather keep Hazard around, he won’t hold any grudges against the forward if he decides to leave.
While Chelsea will not be selling Callum Hudson-Odoi during this transfer window amid interest from Bayern Munich, Sarri says that Hazard would be free to go if he wants to. “The situation of Eden is different,” Sarri referred to Hudson-Odoi. “Eden is 28. If he wants to go, I think he has to go.”
“Of course, I hope the opposite, I hope he wants to stay here. He has the potential to be the best player in Europe at the moment.” Hazard’s deal is set to expire in 18 months and it is thought that the Belgian wants to sign for Real Madrid this summer. The Spanish giants have been long-linked to Hazard, but are yet to make an offer.
