Ivan Perisic has been selected for Internazionale’s Coppa Italia game with Lazio on Thursday. The Croatian has made a swift return to the squad after he was banned from all first team activities on Monday. Perisic had reportedly received an offer from Arsenal and handed in a transfer request. Inter boss Luciano Spalletti now says the Croatian has been misled.
“Perisic was misled, he was probably made an offer that has enticed him”, Spalletti told reporters ahead of the game on Thursday. “He is in the squad, we’ll see if we use him or not. Today he trained and I saw a different spirit.” Perisic was left out of Inter’s starting eleven on Sunday during their trip to Torino (1-0 loss).
Though Perisic is back in the squad at Inter, it is unclear if the Croatian still wants to leave the club. Arsenal have not made an official approach for the left winger and are now ready to sign FC Barcelona’s Denis Suarez on loan, while the club are also looking at Yannick Carrasco.
