West Ham United are considering a loan move for Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi to bolster their options up front for the second half of the season. The Belgian forward is currently on loan at Valencia, but the Spanish side would like to cut the deal short.
West Ham are looking for a short-term option for the rest of the season as the Hammers are ready to complete the signing of Celta’s Maxi Gomez for next season. The Uruguayan will join the club in the summer and a short-term loan would be the ideal situation for West Ham.
Chelsea, however, would rather want to sell Batshuayi than send him out on loan again. The Blues are aware of Everton’s interest in the forward, but the Toffees will need to sell Turkish striker Cenk Tosun first to gather the needed funds. That makes West Ham a suitable candidate to land Batshuayi if Everton fails to sell Tosun in the next 48 hours.
