Arsenal sign Denis Suarez on loan from FC Barcelona

Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Denis Suarez from FC Barcelona. The 25-year-old Spanish midfielder has joined the Gunners on a six-month loan deal. Arsenal will reportedly have the option to sign the Spain international permanently for €20m in the summer.

Barcelona already confirmed the transfer by mistake on Wednesday, but then confirmed the move a day later. “We are very happy that Denis Suarez is joining us,” Arsenal boss Unai Emery told the club’s official website.

“He is a player we know well and I have worked with him at Sevilla. He brings us quality and options in many different attacking positions, so he’ll be able to help the team.” Suarez could be making his debut for Arsenal on Sunday when the Gunners make a trip to Manchester City, Suarez’ former club.
