Bayern Munich end January pursuit in Callum Hudson-Odoi

Bayern Munich will not be making a Deadline Day offer for Chelsea’s teenage winger Callum Hudson-Odoi. The German giants have been pursuing the England U19 international during the January window, but have now accepted that Chelsea are not prepared to sell the 18-year-old.

“We will no longer be active in the transfer market,” head coach Nico Kovac told a media conference on deadline day. The teams do not want to let their players leave. We have a good and big squad. I have to leave one or two at home again this weekend.”

Bayern will play Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday and the club is ready to stay in touch with league leaders Borussia Dortmund, who have a six-point lead. “They [Leverkusen] are a really, really good team,” he added. “We are expecting a real fight at the weekend”, Kovac said.
