Pochettino not expecting any signings on Deadline Day

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is not expecting any new signings on transfer deadline day. The London based club have only signed one player since January 2018, Lucas Moura from Paris Saint-Germain, and the Argentinian boss is not expecting his club to welcome a second addition.

Asked if club owner Daniel Levy could give him a surprise signing, Pochettino said: “No, I don’t know anything. “I am going to talk now with my chief scout Steve Hitchen, I am going to ask for some news. I expect that maybe some player is going to leave but I do not expect that we are going to add to the squad.”

“I am going to talk because I want some news, but not because I am expecting to sign a player.” Tottenham managed to keep their top four hopes alive on Wednesday after the club earned a 2-1 comeback against Watford, while Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United dropped points.
