With a swivel of his hips, Matheus Cunha announced himself to Bundesliga fans. The 20-year-old latched onto a Timo Werner pass ahead of Sven Bender before bamboozling Wendell with a pirouette as he stumbled into the Bayer Leverkusen penalty area.

Goalkeeper Lukáš Hrádecký raced out to narrow the angle but perhaps committed himself a little too early. Yet that shouldn’t take anything away from the composed finish that followed.
