Gianluigi Buffon added another special jersey to his collection after the Juventus AC Milan Coppa Italia semi-final clash.
Interestingly enough though he has played against multiple generations of opponents from the same family.
After yesterday’s clash with AC Milan, he added to that unique piece of history.
He had already come up against Enrico Chiesa and his son Federico.
Then there was George Weah and his son Timothy.
Yesterday he made it a hat-trick of father-son opponents. Having played against Paolo Maldini he faced his son Daniel Maldini.
After the game in an interview reported by Football Italia, Buffon jokingly suggested that he may now seek to play an old adversary’s grandson too.
“In my collection, I have Enrico Chiesa and his son, George Weah and his son, Paolo Maldini and his son.”
“Now I’m waiting for their grandchildren!”
