Mourinho finds suitable targetman at city-rivals Chelsea

Tottenham Hotspur have interest in Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud. According to Express, Jose Mourinho is a fan of the French international and he has asked his board to make funds available to sign Giroud during the summer transfer window.

The Spurs boss is actively looking for a back up option for Harry Kane after the England forward missed a large part of the season due to an injury. Mourinho was left without a suitable replacement, playing several players up front during Kane’s absence.

Giroud could be open for a change of club since he is third choice in the pecking order at Chelsea behind Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi. It will be Chelsea’s call to let Giroud join the Spurs this summer. It is believed that Internazionale and Lazio are also interested in the 2018 World Champion.
