Bayer Leverkusen are ready to fight off any interested club in Kai Havertz. The young German has been having a smashing season in the Bundesliga and he has been linked with moves to the Premier League and Spanish La Liga, while reports claim that Chelsea have opened talks with Leverkusen to sign Havertz.
When asked about Havert’s situation, sporting director Rudi Völler claimed that he still has high hopes to keep the midfielder at Leverkusen. “If he plays like this now. We haven’t given up hope that he’ll stay with us”, Voller told ARD. “We try to give him every possibility that he can call up his qualities.”
Havertz has played 38 games for Leverkusen across all competitions this season, scoring 15 goals and providing 8 assists. It is believed that the German club, who are led by Dutch coach Peter Bosz, are demanding a transfer fee that will surpass the 100M mark.
