Zidane remains optimistic despite knock for Eden Hazard

Zinedine Zidane was happy after his side beat Eibar 3-1 in their first La Liga game since the league was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Spanish giants played a very strong first half, scoring three goals. In the second half Madrid wasn’t powerful enough to extend their lead.

One of the reasons for Real’s messy second half were the four substitutions, all of them due to physical reasons. “We had to sub the players of. Carvajal twisted his ankle, Ramos had some troubles in his upper leg and Hazard hadn’t played a full match for ages. We had to take them off the field.”

Hazard played a good first half for Real but was targeted by the Eibar defenders, suffering from some heavy challenges. “They hit him hard, maar that was a good thing I guess. He told me during the first half he was happy that he was getting knocks as this showed him he could play without fear. He was happy with his performance and so were we.”
